SYEA opens “Job Fair 09” on the 4th of next July

Haikal: The Fair is an opportunity for the employment of the Syrian Competencies incoming from abroad.

The Syrian Young Entrepreneurs Association “SYEA” opens the “SYEA JOB FAIR 09” during the period 4th – 6th of next July at Damascus International Fairground. The fair gives an opportunity for direct contact between the Syrian Youth of the fresh graduates and those having technical qualifications and scientific experiences, and the Syrian leading Company seeking to employ the young national competencies .

Mr. Karim Altabbaa, Vice President of “SYEA” considered that the Fair provides appropriate opportunity for the university students and graduates who form the majority of the Fair’s visitors, to meet with the owners of the economic activities seeking employment. He revealed “the diversity of the work fields of the participants and jobseekers this year, to include foodstuffs, medical, tourist, industrial, media, insurance and bank sectors, and others”.

Altabbaa said that Participation in the Fair is open for the Companies seeking the young competencies, so as to contribute in winning those competencies on one hand, and in restricting effectively the congestion of the unemployment market in Syria, on the other hand. According to Altabbaa, besides affording the direct contact between the jobseekers and the exhibiting companies, “the Fair gives an opportunity to complete a form directly in the Fair or through the Fair’s website syeajobfair.com, where all the applications will be distributed to all the Companies in the Fair for selecting what is needed according to the work nature of each Company”.

While Altabbaa considered that organizing the Fair this year confronts the challenges of the world economical crisis which obliged many Companies to reduce their business and sometimes to discharge some of their employees, Abdulsalam Haikal, the President of the Association, expected that the Fair will witness in its coming session an increasing number of visitors of the Syrian competencies from abroad, particularly from the Arab Gulf Countries, of those who have been obliged by the world economical crisis to return homeland and to look for job opportunities here”.

Haikal considered that the Fair forms a prominent social and national message that contributes in raising the competency and professionalism of the employees selection process, to depend more on the qualifications and less on taking by the personal relations.  He pointed to the importance of the Fair in consolidating the principle of partnership between the Government and the specialized Private Associations side by side with the Private Sector, so as to contribute in providing job opportunities for the youth and restricting the unemployment.

The Statistics of the Association indicate that tens of the Companies and the jobseekers participate yearly in the Fair which has been held for five times in Damascus and three times in Aleppo, and ten thousand young men and girls by average visit the Fair in each Session .

In this regard, Haikal said that “This keeps us determined to develop it year after year, and to establish the partnerships that enable converting it into a national occasion which Syria waits each year.

It’s worth to mention that parallel to this Fair, SYEA will hold a series of meetings with experts in training and recruitment for the purpose of acquainting the youth about the basics for writing a C.V. and making the employment interview, and about the communication skills and entering the labor market.
